FACTS ABOUT RECENT FLOODS IN PAKISTAN

• 20 million affected.

• 10 million children in urgent need, 2.8 million of these children are under five years old.

• Number of people affected by the flooding exceeding the number of people affected by the 2004 tsunami, the Haiti earthquake and the recent earthquake in Pakistan combined.

• One-fifth of Pakistan’s total land area is flooded, with heavy loss of agricultural land/livestock

• $25 can provide enough food for a family for a week

• $100 provides 5 families with an emergency survival pack

$500 provides sanitation facilities for 300 people
