Austin is the capitol city of Texas and home to many historical and natural sites. Nestled in the Texas hill country, Austin is a green city with lots of parks and wildlife both in city limits and in the surrounding areas.
Within Austin are seven masjids serving both Shia and Sunni Muslims. There is also an established community support organization which helps the general Muslim population with social issues.
Many young Muslims attend the University of Texas at Austin and carry with them the hopes of our community for making our country and our world a better place.
The city is surrounded by lakes, which keep us cool during the blazing hot summers. The highlight of the Texas year is the springtime, when millions of blue, red, white and yellow bloom that cover the hillsides. It is truly a memorable sight!
