Family Matters:
Focuses on prevention, awareness and support related to domestic violence and healthy family relationships. This program includes an existing hotline number (512-577-SAFE) which has been in operation long before CTM’s creation which provides immediate assistance and education to callers 24 hours a day.
The newest branch of this program is the Prevention Team which promotes DV prevention through education and positive events.
In the past, the FM program supported the SafePlace Walk for Safe Families and Safe Streets in April of 2006, 2007 and 2008 as its primary fundraiser. Other activities have included presentations to local and national organizations, a Family Fun Day in June 2008, and a seminar on balancing personal and professional lives in July 2009.
Our strategy with this program is to “Maintain the current services offered by FM while developing prevention-based education for the community and assessing the need for further services.”
